It’s been a while since my last post. The reason was because I was in the hospital from March 1-12 with pneumonia. My daughter, Rachel, came for a visit to help me out & spend time with me. It’s always nice to have her visit, she’s so vibrant & energetic. It’s also very nice when any of the other kids come too. I love them all so much.
During my recovery time Rachel & I went shopping for a variety of items for the upcoming family trip to Thailand.
No. 1 stop was a visit to our son Jason, his wife Arlene & their 2 children Bella 4 1/2 & Leonardo 2 1/2 yrs old at their house in Koh Samui, Thailand for 10 days. The flight was long but bearable. Once we arrived, it was worth it. The kids are too funny & it’s always good to see Jason & Arlene. They’ve made a good life for themselves. Samui is a beautiful island with many, many beaches. The people are very nice but us not knowing Thai and they not knowing English, was a bit of a problem. Getting a full body massage for $8.70 US for an hour, certainly wasn’t! The food was a bit strange, mostly spicy, so I played it safe & chose from the “western” menu.
The next 10 days we spent in Bangkok at the Ascott Hotel, No. 7 South Sathorn Road, Yannawa, Sathorn 10120 Thailand for our son John’s wedding to Maribeth Lino on April 8th We had a 1 bedroom apartment that our son John booked for us & anything we wanted or needed we contacted the concierge, May or Tim!
I went to BNH Hospital for an appointment with a pulmonologist because I wasn’t breathing too well & thought the pneumonia was back. The high heat & humidity was too much for me. The nurse took one look at me & sent me to the ER. The ER doctor called the pulmonologist who said I needed to be admitted. This was the last thing I wanted to hear. I came for a wedding & to see the sights & to be with my family but I felt so bad, I agreed. The hospital was very modern, the doctors & nurses were excellent. They took very good care of me & the total price for the 2 day stay, including tests, lab, x- rays and doctors fees were a total of $1700.00 US!
I was out of the hospital 2 days before the wedding, and what a wedding it was!!!! OMG!!!! It was extremely elaborate, so many beautiful flowers, the ceremony, the dj, the music, the food. There were people from all over the world in attendance. If on a scale of 1-10 it was a 20.
John and Maribeth looked so elegant & happy.
The last 2 days of the trip were spent at Sai Kaew Beach Resort on the island of Koh Samet. I wasn’t able to participate with the parasailing and jet skiing that some of the party did, but just being together with my family, knowing they were there for me made me happy.
A very special thanks to my wonderful, attentive, loving, ever caring husband, Ross, who I love with all my heart & more. He’s the guy who brought to the hospital grilled lobster tail & baked potato for dinner on my birthday March 5. The nurses were drooling, I was too busy enjoying him & my dinner!
Without him by my side I probably wouldn’t be here today to write this post.
It is now March 27, 2021 & I’m still alive. God doesn’t want me yet but for some unknown reason I am still here. He must have other plans for me but I just don’t know what it could be. I pray each day he gives me an answer, I’m still waiting.
Also the love I have from my husband is immeasurable. Without him, my rock, I would be lost. I love him so much. ❤️
